PMO Manager Information Technology Victoria or Vancouver Lower Mainland   The opportunity We are searching for a PMO Manager to lead our IT PMO team.  As a Manager, you are responsible for the implementation and management of a Project Management Office (PMO), and you play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining project management best practices, fostering collaboration, and driving consistent project delivery outcomes. You are responsible for driving strategic initiatives, optimizing project workflows, and enhancing project delivery capabilities to support our organization's growth and success. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of project management methodologies, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to inspire and empower cross-functional teams. You proactively identify opportunities to enhance project management practices, tools, and methodologies, focusing on fostering collaboration, agility, and adaptability within the organization. You champion the adoption of advanced project management technologies, automation, and data analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize project outcomes.   The role Reporting to the Director, IT Projects, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as: - Developing and implementing PMO Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive strategy to evolve the PMO function, aligning it with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve project efficiency and effectiveness - Designing Project Management Practices: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance project management practices, tools, and methodologies, focusing on fostering collaboration, agility, and adaptability within the organization - Driving Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of advanced project management technologies, automation, and data analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize project outcomes - Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of learning and improvement within the project teams, encouraging the implementation of lessons learned and knowledge sharing to boost overall project performance - Developing PMO KPIs and Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project success, track progress, and identify areas for improvement, providing regular reports to senior management - Leading Project Governance and Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to the organization's governance framework, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, while maintaining a strong focus on risk management and mitigation - Building and Leading High-Performing PMO Team: Recruit, mentor, and guide a team of skilled project managers, coordinators, and analysts, nurturing their professional growth and promoting a collaborative and results-driven work environment - Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders to understand their needs, align project goals, and facilitate effective communication throughout the project lifecycle - Supporting Project Portfolio Management: Oversee project portfolio management processes, assisting in project prioritization, resource allocation, and ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives - Staying Abreast of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor project management industry trends, tools, and methodologies to recommend relevant updates and adjustments to the PMO strategy What you bring to the team You have a Degree or Diploma in Business, Computer Science or an IT related discipline. ITIL, PMP and scaled Agile Certification would be an asset. In addition, you have 10 years progressive project and program management experience, which includes a comprehensive working knowledge of project management and systems development lifecycle methodologies, combined with experience establishing and managing a PMO. ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER Information Technology 12-month Term Greater Victoria or Vancouver Lower Mainland   The opportunity Working with the Office of the CIO (OCIO) and as part of a dynamic, results-driven team, you support a variety of initiatives within the OCIO, ranging from operational continuous improvements, to projects under our IT transformation roadmap. You are an achievement-oriented individual, who proposes creative and effective solutions. You manage the delivery of initiatives, and are responsible for managing these in accordance with a defined scope, schedule and budget, using sound project management methodologies, that are aligned with the Project Management Institute's (PMI®) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).   The Role Reporting to the Director, Office of the CIO, your key areas of oversight are: - Defining scope, goals and deliverables that support continuous improvement in collaboration with stakeholders and management - Contributing to the development of the IT transformation roadmap - Establishing and managing effective change control processes - Analyzing and evaluating needs and advises on timing and priorities of projects and initiatives - Defining success criteria and disseminating information to involved parties throughout project life cycle - Developing and growing any business relationships vital to the success of the project - Identifying inter-dependencies, conflicting requirements, and overlapping impact on business processes, IT operational activities and IT transformation What you bring to the team You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. You also bring a minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in project management or project analysis in operational improvements and IT transformation projects. Join us!
