INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC Horseshoe Bay 12 Month Term Certain   As an energetic professional Industrial Mechanic, you interpret drawings; perform installation, service and repair work of hydraulic equipment, vehicle ramp systems, passenger walkway system, lubricating systems and maintenance of marine structures.   You perform work to Company standards, utilizing effective troubleshooting and time management techniques.  You have excellent communication skills and an ability to safely meet the physical demands of the job.    You possess a BC or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Endorsement Millwright Certification.  You have 3-5 years of industrial experience with installations, repairs, maintenance, as well as, shop experience on hydraulics, lubrication and assembly.    Please note that a Class 3 driver’s license and/or A level Certification from the BC Association for Crane Safety would be considered an asset. This position will not require shift work and the schedule is Monday to Thursday. Join us! ELECTRICIAN, TERMINAL MAINTENANCE Horseshoe Bay 12 Month Term Certain    Working as a team player, you are a responsible self-starter with strong technical and interpersonal skills.  You are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing of a wide variety of electrical, electronic, lighting/high mast and equipment systems, pull boxes, motors and generators on marine walkways, ramps and terminal facilities.  You troubleshoot and analyze faults with test equipment and you install new equipment, fire alarms detection systems, generators, motors and perform emergency repairs. In addition you are responsible for ordering parts, maintaining tools and equipment and operating vehicles and bucket truck.   You are a clear, concise communicator who works well under pressure and is detail-oriented. You also possess the ability to clearly and accurately convey technical information through sketches and drawings.   You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices and working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment. PAINTER, TERMINAL MAINTENANCE Horseshoe Bay Regular You are a safety-minded individual responsible for performing all duties related to protective and decorative coating applications on BC Ferries’ buildings and property.  Your main priorities are to maintain the painting and wallpapering of vessels, marine structures, terminal buildings and offices.   While safely meeting the physical demands of the job, you complete assigned tasks to high standards and with minimal supervision.  You anticipate and analyze problems and initiate appropriate solutions.  You read plans and drawing to determine painting specification, obtain the required equipment for the job, and assist other trades in the performance of their work where appropriate.    You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices and working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment.  You have a BC or Interprovincial Trades Qualification in Painting and Decorating or a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating. You have experience in commercial, industrial or shipyard painting. A valid driver’s license is required.   Join us!
