PURCHASING AGENT   Richmond Regular   We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and qualified Purchasing Agent with experience purchasing a variety of commercially available goods and services to meet the requirements of BC Ferries.   The incumbent will be responsible for purchasing a variety of commercially available goods and services for BC Ferries in a prudent, efficient and cost-effective manner  for our fleet of vessels and other user departments, and will perform the following: reviewing, checking, analyzing and pricing requisitions for a wide variety of goods and services; developing, preparing, issuing and awarding contracts including negotiating contract terms; preparing, issuing and opening formal bids, preparing bid summary reports and performing additional duties as required.   You hold a Supply Chain Association of Canada (SCMP) Designation, or equivalent, with 6 years’ experience in the purchasing and materials management field with computerized MRP/ERP experience.  You also have considerable knowledge relating to negotiations, inventory management, accounting, logistics and organization skills.   Join us!   If this sounds like your next great career move, please apply online by May 1, 2024   "We connect communities and customers to the people and places important in their lives”   At BC Ferries, our employees are our most important assets in delivering our commitment to customer safety, service and satisfaction.
