Inventory Supervisor 

Delta Warehouse 

 

The Opportunity 

We're looking for an experienced Inventory Supervisor to lead inventory operations across BC Ferries. In this role, you'll help keep our fleet running efficiently by leading inventory operations, supporting operational readiness, and collaborating with teams across the organization to drive effective inventory management and continuous improvement. 

 

The Role 

Reporting to the Manager, Warehouse & Inventory some key responsibilities include: 

  • Administering the BC Ferries inventory system, including designing, developing, documenting, testing, and implementing system enhancements and procedures; creating work orders; monitoring system accuracy and integrity; and developing reports to track inventory accuracy and movement; 
  • Establishing and maintaining inventory stocking levels by analyzing inventory data, determining reorder points, reviewing replenishment orders, identifying and actioning expediting outstanding orders and stock variances, forecasting vessel requirements, identifying purchasing needs, and authorizing inventory purchases and stocking requirements; 
  • Establishing and maintaining quality assurance standards by collaborating with customers and internal departments to identify requirements, review inventory products, respond to inquiries, identify suitable products and authorize stocking requirements; 
  • Monitoring inventory performance and accuracy by planning and organizing inventory counts, determining inventory levels, resolving discrepancies, completing data analysis, and developing weekly inventory metrics and KPI reporting; 
  • Leading the inventory team by allocating work, setting priorities, providing orientation, training, coaching, and troubleshooting support, evaluating performance, resolving problems, and monitoring schedules and attendance; 
  • Ensuring procedures are in place to maintain inventory accuracy, including material returns, end-of-life disposal, new item onboarding, and related inventory processes; 
  • Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.  

 

What you bring to the team 

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, IT, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience in inventory management 
  • APICS certification, or actively working towards APICS Certification is preferred 
  • BC or Inter-provincial TQ in Industrial/Automotive Warehousing is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of Inventory Control experience
  • Minimum 3 years previous Supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, WMS and ERP systems, maintenance management systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, delegation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a collaborative team culture

Additional information  

The salary for this bargaining unit position is $6471.00 per month.
