TOTAL REWARDS SPECIALIST

Victoria or Vancouver Lower Mainland

12 to 18-Month Term Certain

 

 

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Total Rewards Specialist who brings both analytical rigor and strategic insight to help shape programs that support, attract, and retain top talent.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping total rewards policies by owning key elements of policy development and providing technical guidance on total rewards practices. You will lead comprehensive analysis, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and leverage both internal and market data to inform strategic decisions. By collaborating closely with leaders and cross-functional partners, you will offer guidance on industry best practices, support compensation and classification decisions, and drive alignment with legislative requirements.

 

Through advanced Excel expertise and strong knowledge of HRIS, database management, and employment legislation, this role delivers complex analysis to support strategic decision-making while bringing a highly organized, service-oriented, and analytical approach.

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Leading information gathering and drafting of exempt total rewards policy and guideline, analyzing total rewards strategy, and ensuring compensation and total rewards practices comply with relevant legislation and regulations under the guidance of the Manager, Total Rewards;
  • Conducting ongoing research and analysis on emerging total rewards trends, issues, and best practices, and recommending changes to total rewards structures as needed;
  • Providing compensation and classification support to the compensation team;
  • Creating, gathering, and analyzing compensation and total rewards data (including vacation and leave programs), and liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with policies and legislation while gaining alignment on policy changes and updates;
  • Developing and analyzing reports to support compensation and total rewards policies and practices, and conducting audits as required;

 

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor's Degree, Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 5+ Years experience in HR, Compensation, or benefit administration
  • 2+ Years experience supporting total rewards, preferably in a large organization
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel including managing databases and creating Excel charts
  • Advanced knowledge of navigating HRIS
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, a service-oriented mindset, and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional information 

The target salary range: $105,200 - $131,500 annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
