LIFESAVING APPLIANCE TECHNICIAN 

Richmond – Fleet Maintenance Unit

Fixed Term Casual

 

We are seeking motivated, experienced Lifesaving Appliance Technicians to support refit and project requirements at our Fleet Maintenance facility in Richmond, with a primary focus on liferafts, evacuation slides, platforms, and marine evacuation systems.

 

In this role, you inspect, test, service, certify, exchange, and install lifesaving appliances and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory standards. This includes liferafts, platforms, evacuation slides, marine evacuation systems, and associated equipment. You support equipment exchange and transport, maintain inventory, inspection, and testing records, and perform additional related duties as required.

 

You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices, along with a working knowledge of relevant materials, tools, and equipment. You hold a valid manufacturer’s certificate of competency recognized by Transport Canada for liferafts and/or marine or aircraft evacuation systems and associated equipment. Experience with the handling, packaging, and transport of dangerous goods associated with lifesaving appliances is considered an asset. Experience with other lifesaving appliances, including rescue boats, is also considered an asset.

 

You have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience at a technician level or acceptable equivalent and a valid Driver’s Licence.
