The Opportunity
We are in search of a detailed and results-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) professional to join our Information Technology team. As the Senior BI Developer, you are responsible for the overall maintenance, development and support of the suite of Business Intelligence tools, including enterprise planning. Your role has responsibility for continuous improvement, quality assurance, effective change management, and project delivery excellence.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Application Management, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:
- Providing second and third-tier support for IBM Cognos Analytics applications and IBM DataStage ETL jobs
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex application issues within Finance, Human Resources (HR), and Business and Maintenance applications
- Collaborating with Business Analysts, Developers, and Architects understand business requirements, and developing detailed design specifications
- Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure and database-related problems
- Assisting with IBM Cognos Analytics server software, installation, upgrades, testing as well as configuring models for packaged applications
- Ensuring quality assurance and maintaining the overall integrity of reported data from IBM Cognos Analytics and ETL systems
- Providing leadership, guidance and mentorship to other team members, and facilitate team interaction
What you bring to the team
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Cognos BI tools, BI and Enterprise Planning at a senior level as an Analyst or a Developer
- Experience with Data Warehousing, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) would be an asset
- Significant experience in configuring, testing, troubleshooting and end-user support for BI applications
- Experience developing business process documentation, test plans and technical requirements
- High level of self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
