ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN MANAGER

The Role

Reporting to the Director, People Recruitment & Total Rewards, you contribute value through key areas of oversight such as:

  • Establishing an organizational design framework and methodology that aligns with BC Ferries’ current and long-term goals (5+ years);
  • Developing guidelines and processes to support People Experience Partners in designing scalable and effective organizational structures. This includes creating organizational design tools and templates;
  • Acting as subject matter expert and provide consultation for People Experience Partners, senior leaders and other cross functional partners and stakeholders as needed;
  • Creating and facilitating training in organizational design practices and guidelines;
  • Collaborating with People Experience and business leaders to analyze current and future operating models, develop options, and recommend new organizational structures with associated costing;
  • Working with partners to clearly define the roles and responsibilities of divisions, departments or teams, developing process maps and structures to enhance effectiveness and enable capability build;
  • Partnering closely with the Total Rewards team (Compensation & Classifications) to ensure seamless transition from design to job levelling and alignment to our compensation framework;
  • Facilitating or assisting with job analysis, including reviews of activities and responsibilities, as needed;
  • Conducting comprehensive research and benchmark to similar organizations, utilizing data and best practices to inform and enhance structure and design;
  • Compiling information, prepare reports, monitor frameworks and conduct monitoring activities;
  • Keeping current with emerging theories and practices that support organizational design goals and BC Ferries objectives;

 

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce or related discipline
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience developing operating models and organizational design (either internal to HR or within a consulting context)
  • Proven ability in building credibility and influence with leaders at all levels, up to C suite
  • Strong presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills are required
  • Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills are required
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization, consulting or start-up environment is considered an asset
  • Experience implementing complex or large-scale transformations and/or change management
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset

Additional information

The target salary is between $132,600 - $165,700 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
