INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, RELIABILITY & ASSET MANAGEMENT

4 or 8-Month Co-op, Internship or Work Study opportunity

As a member of the Integrated Logistics Support, Maintenance, Reliability & Asset Management team, you will support our Engineering and Asset Management teams. You’ll gain hands-on experience with marine (vessel and terminal) asset lifecycle management, applying industry-standard methods to optimize vessel and infrastructure reliability. Your work will help shape strategies that ensure operational excellence, safety, and long-term value for both BC Ferries and our passengers.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management Support you add value to key areas such as:

  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) documentation for new-build vessels, vessel upgrades, and terminal assets, and upgrade projects.
  • Assisting in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Contributing to data gathering and performance analysis for critical marine systems and structures.
  • Helping optimize spare parts strategies and supply chain support through collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Ensuring data integrity within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Participating in ISO 55000-aligned continuous improvement projects and adhere to Transport Canada regulations.
  • Producing technical documentation, data visualizations, and presentations for internal stakeholders.

What you bring to the team

  • Currently enrolled in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering or Asset Management (undergraduate or graduate program), 3rd or 4th year Undergraduate, or Masters Program.
  • Exposure to CMMS (e.g. Maximo/Infor), reliability engineering tools (RCM/FMEA), or asset management standards (ISO 55000) is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; capable of data manipulation and visualization.
  • Effective oral and written communication; collaborative team player.
  • Attention to detail and disciplined in documentation and data practices.
  • Interest in marine transportation, logistics, maintenance, and asset reliability.

SALARY

  •  $27.50 - $30.61/hr, 35hrs per week
