As we modernize our operations and invest in a more sustainable future, we’re looking for a forward-thinking and results-driven Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Procurement Services to lead our supply chain transformation and take our procurement strategy to the next level.

 

In this crucial leadership role, you oversee strategic sourcing, procurement operations, contract compliance, and vendor performance. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the fleet and terminals to streamline operations, improve delivery times, and align supply chain performance with BC Ferries’ long-term strategic goals.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Supply Chain you add value by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Leading and inspiring a high-performing Supply Chain team, including strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management professionals with a focus on performance, collaboration and continuous improvement;
  • Optimizing procurement strategies across diverse categories to reduce costs, maximize productivities, enhance forecasting accuracy, and improve service delivery;
  • Act as the key liaison between the company, customers, and partners to align procurement, purchasing, and inventory management strategies with organizational goals and highlighting any associated risks.
  • Driving sustainable procurement by embedding environmental, social, and inclusive practices into sourcing and supplier decisions;
  • Leading vendor performance management initiatives through robust performance tracking and risk mitigation strategies;
  • Championing digital transformation by modernizing systems and tools (ex. Oracle, Maximo, P2P, S2P) to improve data-driven decision-making, transparency, and efficiency;
  • Overseeing the corporate purchasing card (P-Card) program to ensure strong policy compliance, while providing responsive, efficient support to internal teams;
  • Collaborating across departments to proactively identify process inefficiencies and deliver timely, strategic solutions that drive continuous improvement;
  • Coaching and developing team members through hands-on mentorship and training to support their growth and successful adoption of new systems and improvement;
  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process integrity, system optimization, and team performance, enabling data-driven decision-making;

 What you bring to the team

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Management, or other related field
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Management, or other related field is an asset
  • 7-9 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain roles
  • 4-6 years of experience in sourcing, contract and vendor performance management
  • 4-6 years of experience leading a diverse team with focus on continuous improvement and change management to support and deliver on corporate operational performance targets in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CMMS (Maximo), Cognos, Oracle and other business management systems
  • Experience leading in the context of supply chain transformation and modernization is preferred
  • Experience leading and collaborating with business stakeholder on complex procurement portfolios involving capital construction, marine industry suppliers or related to with heavy machinery, maintenance is preferred
  • SCMP, CPSM or CPIM education and training are considered an asset

Additional information

The target salary range: $125,400 - $156,800 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
