CREWING ADVISOR

Nanaimo

  

The opportunity

We are searching for a Crewing Advisor to join the Scheduling Services Team in Nanaimo. You will develop both long term and short-term schedules to meet operational requirements and Company objectives in accordance with operational policies, the collective agreement and regulatory requirements for vessels and shore positions. 

 

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Scheduling Services, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Identifies both short term and seasonal resource requirements based on trends and analysis provided by the Crewing Analyst.
  • Participates in plans that foster team success by reviewing and correcting processes to ensure optimal crewing practices are put in place.
  • Analyses, plans, implements and schedules vacation programs, ASTO and other planned and unplanned leave entitlements.
  • Manages leave request for all employees.
  • Works closely with crew schedulers to meet operational needs.
  • Works with Crewing Officer on high level analysis of methods to be used to optimize employee assignment methods, crew profiles and recommends changes to achieve improvements and maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Participates in and may be a member of the Route Management teams.
  • Works with People Experience on employee movements in/out of job postings, long-term placements, term certain, relocation, promotion/demotion timing, etc.  

What you bring to the team

You have a Post-Secondary education in a related field of a suitable combination of education and experience. You have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – emphasis on use of Excel spreadsheets and 3-5 years office experience preferably in a complex unionized environment.

 

Experience with staff scheduling systems and training in BCFS systems is considered an asset.

Additional information

The target salary range: $64,600-$80,700 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
