As an energetic, professional Shipwright, you are responsible for maintaining various ship fittings and life-saving equipment. You will repair and replace ships fire doors including hinges, door closures, holdbacks, handles, gaskets, latching and sliding door hardware; Maintain exterior car deck areas such as deck hatches; passenger barrier gates, bow door bumpers and gaskets. Fabricate and repair stainless steel boxes for various emergency equipment. Repair and maintain passenger and crew facilities.
You have the ability to work cooperatively within diverse teams. You perform work to Company standards, utilizing effective troubleshooting and time management techniques. You have excellent communication skills and an ability to safely meet the physical demands of the job.
You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices and working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment. You hold a BC or Interprovincial TQ in Shipwright, Joinery, or Carpentry. Experience in Sheet Metal is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
