WEB DESIGNER

Victoria or Richmond

 

The Opportunity

We are looking for a creative Web Designer who will be responsible for performing routine content updates on all of BC Ferries' web platforms, including the website, mobile app, intranet, sailsafe.com and more. You will provide design input on projects and operational initiatives in collaboration with UX Designers.

 

In collaboration with internal stakeholders, you will support the maintenance and enhancement of BC Ferries' web platforms by applying your creative eye and knowledge best practices in web design. The primary responsibilities for this role are web design, content management, coordinating web updates and the production of web assets, UAT testing as a part of website releases, administration of the team's sharepoint site and task management tools, and assisting UX Designers with production of designs as required. This role will also support a range of internal and external distributions, including email newsletters via the Campaigner tool, internal podcast updates and more.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services & Workflow, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Performs routine operational content updates on BC Ferries web platforms (bcferries.com, mobile app, intranet, sailsafe.com).
  • Monitor incoming requests to Digital Services and action as required.
  • Coordinate production of digital assets for web content initiatives on intranet.
  • Provides design input on projects and operational initiatives in collaboration with UX Designers.
  • Assist with hybris release testing on website/mobile app as required.
  • Publish weekly CEO podcast updates on employee intranet.
  • Provide training in Marqui, smartedit and backoffice to internal clients.
  • Publishes electronic newsletter via Campaigner tool and communicates with supporting teams.
  • Execute ENL list management tactics including segmentation, CRM, and email delivery.
  • Available on-call on weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain the organization of the Digital Services team's Sharepoint site and task management tools such as MS Planner, Jira and Confluence.
  • Assist with user testing/research using tools such a Lyssna.

 

What you bring to the team

You have a Bachelor's Degree in Web Design, Business, Marketing, or relevant design certification. You bring 4-6 years of web design experience and excellent written, oral, and social interpersonal skills across multiple audiences and methods.

Additional information

The target salary range: $64,300 - $80,400 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
