SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Victoria

 

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in the Accounting and Reporting Department. You will be instrumental in financial reporting commitments, support supply chain, and value on projects, and increased demand for accounting advice.

 

This position requires strong attention to detail, a team focus and customer service skills while promoting fiscal responsibility through financial planning, analysis and reporting. In addition, you may facilitate the accounting of capital assets, commissioner reporting, debt instruments, inventories, input tax credits and hedging.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Ensuring internal controls are appropriate with accounting process changes.
  • Reconciliation and analysis of accounts.
  • Accounting standards review and interpretation.
  • Providing professional accounting advice.
  • Reviewing reconciliation and providing guidance to the financial analysts.
  • Preparation of financial statements.
  • Preparation of working papers and
  • Providing analysis and reports on ad hoc issues.

 

 

What you bring to the team

  • CPA Professional Designation.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation under IFRS.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and applications.
  • Interpretation of accounting principles.
  • Experience using current major financial software (Oracle preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to balance data analysis and information with timely decision making.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills.

Additional information

The target salary range: $102,200 - $127,700 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience, and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
