OPERATIONS MANAGER – FLEET MAINTENANCE UNIT

A key member of the Fleet Maintenance Unit management team, you provide leadership across a wide range of fleet maintenance unit skilled trades, technicians, operational support staff, and services. With a focus on health and safety programs, and continuous improvement of quality management systems, you are responsible for the development and implementation of vessel re-fit business processes and control systems, and the delivery of re-fit and fleet maintenance related work according to scope, schedule and budget. In addition, you will identify, evaluate, develop and implement maintenance related growth and development opportunities.
You work both independently and as a collaborative team member, utilizing effective analytical, problem solving and time management skills. Your strengths include clear and concise communication skills, organization, leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships within a diverse industrial environment.
This is an opportunity for an accomplished maritime or shipyard professional with a minimum of five years’ experience leading in a management and/or supervisory capacity within a unionized shipyard or ship repair facility. You have a Trades Qualification, or training and certification related to ship repair and maintenance, or post-secondary education in Applied Sciences, Naval Architecture, a P.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience. A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from a recognized educational institution is an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite Programs is required. A working knowledge of SharePoint, Maximo and Cognos/Oracle or similar financial performance and database management systems is an asset.

Additional information
This is a full-time position. The target salary range: $121,800 - $182,700 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis
