ASSISTANT REGIONAL MANAGER, TERMINAL MAINTENANCE

Swartz Bay

 

The Opportunity

We are searching for an Assistant Regional Manager to join our Terminal Maintenance team. As a key member of Terminal Maintenance team, you are assisting the Regional Manager in providing leadership to the maintenance region to ensure the safe, timely and efficient maintenance of terminal marine structures and shore facilities by managing an effective maintenance program. You bring the ability to lead a diverse team in a unionized environment and knowledge of marine structures, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical, civil infrastructure, buildings, sewage plans and water systems.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Terminal Maintenance, you add value to the team in the following catergories:

 

A. Ensuring that terminal marine and shore facilities are available for safe operation by:

  • Assisting with planning, developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive and effective preventative and reliable centered maintenance program
  • Developing technical solutions to challenges and presenting options to rectify
  • Assisting with planning and managing operating and smaller capital projects for successful delivery
  • Ensuring Corporate and legislated standards are met
  • Responding to emergencies

B. Maintaining the asset database for maintenance planning and record keeping of maintenance activity by:

  • Utilizing CMMS software
  • Ensuring maintenance routines and job plans are thorough and in alignment with objectives and standards
  • Developing business processes and systems to record historical data
  • Monitoring activity and providing progress reports

C. Acquiring services beyond the capability of the maintenance department by:

  • Ensuring contractors operate within BCF safety standards
  • Monitoring and evaluating contract work
  • Evaluating bids and proposals for work from contractors

D. Ensuring risk assessment

  • Conducting risk assessment
  • Assisting with conducting incident review
  • Ensuring compliance (Environmental, Safety and Training qualification)

What you bring to the team

You posses a four-year undergraduate degree in an Engineering related field or successful completion of a two-year community college diploma, technical institute certification, or equivalent (e.g. trades certification). Registration with EGBC and a Project Management or Maintenance Management Professional Certificate considered an asset. You posses strong interpersonal, technical, organizational, project and time management skills. You have the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and work with computer software (CMMS unspecified but Maximo preferred, MS Office Excel, MS Word and Outlook).

Additional information

The target salary range: $95,600 - $119,500 per annum.  The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
