    SENIOR MANAGER, NAVIGATION SAFETY

    In this newly created role, you will act as a key member of the Fleet Operations Team; responsible for setting and monitoring the fleet standard in marine navigation. Reporting to the Director, Fleet Standards, you support the key objectives of ensuring that all navigation policies and procedures are effective and clearly communicated throughout the Fleet and that vessel bridge teams are maintaining the fleet standard.

     

    You will serve the Fleet as the primary coach and mentor for bridge and navigation standards. You will also manage the Fleet Navigation Assessment Team, coordinate the fleet navigation assessment process and conduct navigation assessments and bridge team evaluations. You will also support the Bridge Simulation team by teaching navigation courses and assist in the development of the course curriculum.

     

    This role is ideally suited for an experience mariner with deep specialist knowledge in navigation and you have had success and experience teaching navigation. You are an effective communicator and effective problem-solver with an ability to anticipate, identify, and initiate appropriate solutions in a cohesive, team-oriented environment.

     

    Your exemplary credentials include a certification as a Navigation Officer and a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma. An Adult Education certificate or Instructor certification in a relevant field or equivalent work experience as an instructor is preferred. This position requires a valid driver’s license and travel is required.
